Your First Visit to Rise & Shine Play in Point Loma
A first visit with a little one comes with plenty to think about. Finding a place to play should feel easy. Here’s what to know before you come to Rise & Shine Play, our indoor play space and café in Point Loma, San Diego.
Who is Open Play for?
Our space is designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers ages 0–5. There’s room to move, imagine and explore at their own pace, whether your little one likes pretend play, building or trying something new.
Babies who are not yet crawling are free with a paid sibling. Older siblings ages 6+ are welcome in the lounge, with books, drawing, Magna-Tiles and other activities, but cannot use the Open Play area. Private birthday parties have a different older-sibling policy.
Choose your day and session
Regular Open Play hours are Monday–Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 AM–1:30 PM. Most Thursdays open at 9:30 AM because of Sing & Play; when there is no Sing & Play, Thursday opening is 8:30 AM. Weekends are generally reserved for private parties, with occasional separately announced events or Open Play.
Standard Open Play sessions are two hours; Midday Open Play is 90 minutes. Your playtime begins at check-in. Choose the booking time closest to when you expect to arrive, and check the selected session’s details before booking.
What to bring
Bring socks for everyone. Rise & Shine is a shoe-free space, and both children and adults must wear socks. Everyone needs a completed waiver before entry.
You don’t need a full itinerary for your visit. Leave room for your child to explore, return to a favorite activity or spend a little longer on something that catches their attention. Coffee and handcrafted drinks are available while you’re here.
Book ahead, then settle in
We recommend reserving ahead, especially when you have a particular day or time in mind. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, but availability is not guaranteed. Please stay home if anyone in your reservation is sick or showing symptoms of illness.
If your plans change, check the current cancellation and rescheduling policy in our FAQ and contact us before your session. Keeping the policy in one place helps you find the latest details.
