Is an Indoor Play Membership Worth It for Your Family?
An indoor play membership can be useful when it fits the visits you already want to make. The best place to start is your actual routine: how often you come, how many children need admission and whether you prefer a monthly plan or occasional visits.
Here’s a practical way to compare the options at Rise & Shine Play in Point Loma. Prices below were checked in October 2026; see our membership page and booking checkout for current prices and terms.
Count the visits you’ll realistically use
Look at the last month rather than the most ambitious version of next month. Would you come once a week? A few times around other activities? Does our Open Play schedule fit your family’s routine?
If you haven’t visited yet, trying a single session first can help you decide whether this is somewhere you’ll want to return.
Compare the same kind of admission
Standard advance Open Play admission is currently $20 per child. At that price, four visits for one child total $80. The four-visits-per-month membership is $72 per month, or $18 per visit when all four visits are used. That’s an $8 difference before any other benefits.
Unlimited Open Play for one child is currently $105 per month. Six standard advance visits would total $120, so a family making six visits would spend $15 less on that membership before perks. Five standard advance visits total $100, so unlimited doesn’t automatically cost less at every visit frequency.
These examples compare posted admission prices for one child. Sibling admission, Midday sessions and the specific passes you choose can change the comparison.
Consider a class pack if your schedule varies
The $95 class pack includes five Open Play visits with six months to use the credits. That works out to $19 per visit when all five are used, and may suit a family that wants visits spread over several months.
Pack credits can also be used toward classes priced at $20 or less. That does not make every class eligible, so check the session details before booking.
Include the benefits you’ll actually use
The four-visit membership currently includes $15 Sing & Play admission and 10% off coffee and retail. The one-child unlimited membership includes $15 Sing & Play admission, 15% off coffee and retail, and one guest pass per month. Music class admission is discounted rather than included free.
If you need admission for two children, compare the current sibling rates with the two-child unlimited option on our membership page. Before purchasing, review the plan’s current renewal, cancellation and credit terms in checkout.
